What you'll practise
Dosage calculation practice questions built into patient cases use numeric entry, single-choice and multiple-response checkpoints, so the maths has a purpose in the evolving patient story.
How it works
Pick a clinical area or start any case.
Work through one evolving patient story without correctness coaching between questions.
See answers, calculations and rationales at the end, then revise any weak skill.
Not ready for a case yet?
Use a focused lesson or quiz, then come back and apply the skill in context.
Liquid doses, tablets, weight-based dosing and drawing-up volumes.
OpenmL/hr, infusion time, gtt/min and medication-rate calculations.
OpenWeight-based dosing and paediatric maintenance-fluid calculations.
OpenShorter skill-by-skill practice before returning to a case.

MedMaths Clinical Calculation Cases provide free nursing dosage calculation practice with no account required. Choose a clinical area, complete one evolving patient case, and review the answers, calculations and rationales after the case is finished.
The current case bank includes medication dose and volume calculations, reconstitution, IV pump rates, infusion time, paediatric mg/kg dosing, cumulative doses, dehydration and fluid calculations, fluid balance, urine output, replacement fluids and blood-transfusion calculations.
They can be useful for nursing-school and NCLEX dosage-calculation practice, but MedMaths Clinical Calculation Cases are not official NCLEX case studies and do not claim to reproduce the NCLEX scoring model. They are MedMaths-designed clinical calculation scenarios that use an evolving patient record and mixed question formats.
Yes. Correctness feedback is withheld while you complete the case. At the end, the results review shows your answer, the correct answer, calculations, rationale and clinical interpretation where relevant, so you can see what needs revision without interrupting the assessment flow.
Yes. Choose Medication & IV Safety, Paediatrics, Renal & Fluid Balance, or Blood & Transfusion. MedMaths then selects one case from that clinical area so each session stays short and focused.
A normal dosage calculation quiz often gives one isolated calculation at a time. MedMaths cases place calculations inside an evolving patient scenario with medication charts, observations, pathology, fluid records, product information and reassessment, so the maths has a clinical purpose.
MedMaths Clinical Calculation Cases are not official NCLEX questions or an official NCLEX simulator. The current NCLEX-RN test plan defines its own six-item clinical-judgment case-study structure. See the NCSBN 2026 NCLEX-RN Test Plan for the official exam framework.
MedMaths cases teach calculation and clinical reasoning. Always follow authorised orders, current product information, local policy and appropriate clinical escalation.
