These are fictional practice intravenous (IV) infusion-time arithmetic scenarios. Use the stated/verified volume that still needs to run and the stated current mL/hr rate from one constant-rate interval. In a real pump workflow, a volume to be infused (VTBI) must represent the intended volume for that workflow rather than being inferred from a nominal container label. Use the current/active rate for the current interval; a ceased rate belongs to an earlier interval. Calculate duration first, keep working precision, convert only the decimal-hour part into minutes, and add a start time only when a finish time is requested. The clock finish time is conditional on the stated interval continuing unchanged; if the infusion is paused or the rate changes, the previous uninterrupted-running estimate no longer applies unchanged. Pump mL/hr is not gravity gtt/min; gravity calculations additionally require a tubing drop factor. The arithmetic does not select fluid therapy, authorise administration or provide device-specific programming instructions. If a required volume or rate is missing, or source entries conflict, stop and clarify rather than inventing a number.
