Overview

Robert D. Mosteller, MD, is a physician whose published work has included cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology. In 1987 he published a brief New England Journal of Medicine letter proposing a simplified way to estimate body surface area from height and weight; the equation became widely known as the Mosteller BSA formula. Later publications identify him with cardiology and electrophysiology at the Cleveland Clinic.
