Eugene F. Du Bois, MD, was an American physician and physiologist known for research on human metabolism and clinical calorimetry. Working through the Russell Sage Institute of Pathology and Bellevue Hospital, he published extensively on basal metabolism and heat production. With Delafield Du Bois, he co-authored the 1916 paper describing the body-surface-area equation now known as the Du Bois and Du Bois formula.
