M. Henry Gault, MD (1925–2003), was a Canadian physician and professor of nephrology who helped develop nephrology services, renal-disease teaching and research in Newfoundland. Memorial University describes him as a pioneer in nephrology whose work included renal function and urine enzymology. In 1976 he co-authored with Donald W. Cockcroft the study that introduced the Cockcroft-Gault creatinine-clearance equation.
